Charger Parents, Players and Fans-
As the sun sets on another sweltering summer here in the desert, our fall sports programs are just heating up! There is a palpable excitement on our campus heading into just our 4th year of existence. We have amazing coaches leading some pretty impressive programs this fall: Coach Jefferies is in his 2nd year at the helm of our Football program, and while his presence is felt campus wide, the most obvious manifestation of his talents is on the gridiron. A junior-heavy squad takes the field this fall with expectations of reaching the post-season. !st year Volleyball coach Brian Farr steps up from an assistant role last year to lead a squad of ladies who are impressive on and off the court. Quietly one of the best programs in our entire school, our Cross Country program is being led by Carrie Stradling. Her passion and dedication to the sport has spilled over into the athletes she leads and they are literally running past the competition! Veteran Cheer coach Jessica Kasten returns as the longest tenured coach at Benjamin Franklin- she has been leading our cheer program since our inception and we are constantly in awe at what her squads are accomplishing. As Athletic Director, I swell with pride knowing that these coaches are not only teaching the nuances of their sports on the field, but fostering character off of it as well.
It is a great time to be a Charger folks! We are gaining momentum in everything we do and athletics are an ideal accoutrement to the character building, college preparatory, liberal arts experience we strive to provide for each of our students. We truly have the best families around and couldn’t accomplish all that we do without their undying support. Thank you all for your contributions to the environment of sportsmanship and success we have established here at Benjamin Franklin.
