Title IX Certification

BFCS prohibits the introduction of controversial issues in the classroom that are not germane to the subject of instruction and further prohibits teachers from engaging in political, ideological, or religious advocacy in their classrooms.

Each charter school under the Charter Holder is subject to public records requests and the school’s website shall include the name, telephone number, and email address of an employee or department that can provide the information requested or is able to forward the request to the appropriate person or department. H.B. 2587, 55th Legislature, Second Regular Session (2022).

Each school under the Charter Holder maintains information regarding each employees educational and teaching background and experience in a particular academic content subject matter for all current employees that provide instruction to students. All parents or legal guardians of students enrolled in a school under the Charter Holder are​ ​notified that the Employee Education and Experience information is available for inspection​ ​upon request. This paragraph does not require any school to release personally identifiable information in relation to any teacher or employee, including the teacher's or employee's address, salary, social security number or telephone number. A.R.S. §15-183(F)

School personnel are required to report to campus administration any suspected crime against a person or property that is a serious offense (as defined in section A.R.S. § 13-706, listed below) or that involves a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument or serious physical injury and any conduct that poses a threat of death or serious physical injury to an employee, student or other person on the school property. (A.R.S. § 15-153)

For the purposes of this section "serious offense" means any of the following offenses if committed in this state or any offense committed outside this state that if committed in this state would constitute one of the following offenses (A.R.S. § 13-706):
(a) First degree murder.
(b) Second degree murder.
(c) Manslaughter.
(d) Aggravated assault resulting in serious physical injury or involving the discharge, use or threatening exhibition of a deadly weapon or dangerous instrument.
(e) Sexual assault.
(f) Any dangerous crime against children.
(g) Arson of an occupied structure.
(h) Armed robbery.
(i) Burglary in the first degree.
(j) Kidnapping.
(k) Sexual conduct with a minor under fifteen years of age.
(l) Child sex trafficking.

School personnel may use the quickest method of communication available at the time to report any suspected crime to campus administration under this policy. Campus administration will collect documentation of the suspected crime from the reporting school personnel. Campus administration will also be responsible for notification of the parents of any students involved and local law enforcement as needed.
